I envision to personally provide health articles and also to advocate and create awareness to ensure equality for the less privileged, LGBT group and HIV/AIDS patients in the communities in Ghana. Imagine how religiously motivated discrimination against LGBT people and the less privileged can inflict real harm and why state endorsement of this discrimination is dangerous. From August 2010 to January 2024, I have interviewed over 500 LGBT people, service providers, and advocates, primarily in Ghana who have faced religious exemptions and social gatherings just because they are not straight and are less privileged. In recent years, LGBTQI people have faced so many discrimination because of an absence of comprehensive nondiscrimination legislation and the passage of legislation that provides for exemptions based on religious or moral beliefs.
Toronto celebrated its 44th annual Pride Parade, which is part of the larger Pride Month celebration. The theme for this year's parade is "All In", according to Pride Toronto. The parade route is from Park Road and Rosedale Valley Road, west on Church Street, south on Yonge Street, and ends at Nathan Philips square.
The conversation around LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and others) rights in Africa is as complex as the continent itself—diverse, historical, and shaped by culture, religion, colonial legacies, and contemporary politics.
Mental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being, and for homosexual individuals, the journey to mental health can often be fraught with unique challenges.
The bill, which awaits being signed into law, is one of the harshest in Africa.
